Mini Tofu Burgers with Potato Chips

Recipe for tofu (to serve 3-4)

500g tofu 

3 tbs sesame seeds

3 tbs garlic oil 

2 tbs soy sauce

1 tbs oyster sauce .



1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees 

2. Pat tofu try with paper towel

3. Slice tofu into 1/2cm wide slices and place in a large baking dish 

4. In a bowl, mix all other ingredients (apart from sesame seeds) with a whisk 

5. Pour half of the sauce over the top. 

6. Flip each piece of tofu pour the other half of the sauce on the top. Allow to rest for at least 30minutes

7. Place aluminum foil on a baking tray. Lay each piece of tofu on tray 

8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds 

9. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes and then flip and continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until a little crispy 

You can serve this with a salad, on a burger or with some rice and steamed vegetables! I served it with cheese, baby spinach, roast capsicum, grated carrot!


Ingredients for burgers to serve 4:

4 cups baby spinach

1 cup of roasted capsicum or if you don't have it roasted you can use fresh capsicum

1 carrot, grated

1/2 avocado 

4 slices of Turkish bread * or 4 Bakers Delight Lo-Fo bread rolls or 8 slices of Lo-Fo bread 

4 potato, thinly sliced

1 tbs garlic oil 

150g cheddar cheese, sliced 




1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

2. Line baking paper on baking tray and place potatoes on tray

3. Coat potato in oil and sprinkle with salt, turn over to ensure both sides are evenly coated

4. Place in oven and cook for 10 minute each side

5. Once cooked, assemble all burger ingredients starting with tofu, then cheese and the rest of the ingredients. 


Low FODMAP info for this with IBS:

I would usually use the @bakersdelight Lo-Fo bread but my local is closed for refurb. I decided to use Turkish, but only 1 slice is acceptable. I worked out a 15g serve of carbohydrates as this is equivalent to 1 serve of bread and then sliced it into 2 to make two mini burgers

1/8 avocado is low FODMAP 

50g cheese is low FODMAP 

4 cherry tomatoes are low FODMAP 

Baby spinach is low FODMAP 

170g tofu is low FODMAP 

Carrot is low FODMAP
